Ron Lovelady, the principal is a experienced R.Y.A. yachtmaster instructor, an instructor of G.M.D.S.S. radio and radar.
For three years he was on the ocean youth club staff, skippering the 72 foot ketch Samuel Whitbread captaining her in the last tall ship race ever to sail from the pool of London. He has sailed and built all types of vessel from a 16ft centerboarder, racing yachts, trimarans, to salvage tugs on the West African coast. Also sailing as watch officer on the 300 ton topsail schooners sir Winston Churchill and Malcolm Miller. For a number of years he was responsible for the shore based courses at Llandrillo college
